Retreat in delightful Maldon

It seems like ages since I had spare moments to sit and reflect on our friendship retreat held in Maldon in the central Victorian goldfields district during late August.

As usual I was swamped with work and contemplated not even going!! However, I made a rushed effort on the Saturday and stayed overnight with the girls at The Parsonage - a gorgeously restored and renovated home which is now operated as a bed and breakfast. It caters almost exclusively for crafty groups such as ours and the owner offers delicious home cooked extras for us to revel in.

My first reflection is of the beautiful residence with idyllic rooms and decor, lovely gardens and some pet bunnies romping about, and the short walk to the historic main street with fascinating facades and interesting shops. And yes there is a patchwork shop for those who like to indulge - or forgot to bring vital supplies! My favourite shop has new and antique linens and other bits and bobs. I could spent hours in there and spend lots of money. Well in fact…….
And secondly and more importantly, I feel that I have been very remiss in catching up with this lovely group of friends lately. So it was such fun to enjoy their company, have some laughs and spend some time together - albeit too briefly.
SO glad that I went - not just for the culinary delights and blissful surroundings, but especially for the wonderful moments together. Here we are…. with Rose taking this group photo, as well as the other lovely photos in this post - with my thanks!
